This ancient tradition of energy transmission through the hands, is an effective, holistic healing modality. Reiki is a japanese word, pronounced’ ray-key’, ‘rei’ means ‘universal’ and ‘ki’ means ‘life energy’. It is the vital life force permeating and nourishing all living forms- people, plants and animals. Dr Mikao Usui of Japan rediscovered reiki a century ago. He was a scholar of comparative religions on a quest to find out how the ancients healed. Eventually he accessed the formula from Sanskrit sutras and following personal confirmation, named it the system reiki.
The biological intelligence that promotes the body’s resources to heal a cut finger, mend a broken bone, regulate bodily functions, or assist the lungs to breath, is amplified by reiki. The body is a metaphor for the psyche and every condition whether a ‘dis-ease’ or accident’ has an underlying meaning. Reiki is far more than a physical healing modality, it brings into balance all four aspects of self, mental, spiritual, emotional and physical.
Whether you are fit and well, have a health issue or challenge in your life, Reiki provides complete self-healing and has many benefits.
